Since a few weeks ago we began a new investigation for gestural control system, which will be used on any surface, being it metal or not, to reduce its size and scope to extend the range to meet well, 100% the needs of our customers.
This investigation was initiated because we observed a very high metal surfaces application in interest and new uses in accessibility, that requires greater scope for action. But, what this research consist? We presented it below.
We recall the main features of current gesture control:
- It works on any surface except the metal one (this is solved actually by placing the sensor on the surface in a transparent manner, or using non-metallic materials).
- Sensor area as needed to control the device, from 1.5cm2.
- Height acting on the sensor, it depends sensor area.
- Gesture control and machine (device control) all in one.
The current gesture control we are investigating have the following characteristics unlike the current:
- Operation on all surfaces.
- Fixed sensor area of 2.5cm2.
- Height acting on the sensor, up to 3 meters.
- Gesture control and machine (device control) all in one.
- Cost 50% higher than today one.
Does this mean, what the gesture control we are investigating replaced the current gesture control?
The answer is emphatically no. It will be used either, depending on customer needs. This development only seeks to extend the field of application to all surfaces and longer height acting ranges, with a reduced area design.
